TPSO Roadside Arrest
HAMMOND – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrests of Michael Gutter, (B/M, DOB 9.6.83) of Hammond, LA. Gutter was arrested and booked on fourteen charges ranging from domestic abuse to narcotics.
On June 2, 2010, while traveling on South River Rd., Deputy Greg Hensarling observed a LSP Officer initiating a traffic stop on a vehicle. Deputy Hensarling drove to the location to provide assistance. While on the scene, Hensarling was advised that the driver of the vehicle was identified as one Michael Gutter. At this time, it was learned that Gutter was wanted for numerous charges. It was reported that Gutter had twelve (12) outstanding warrants for his arrest out of the 21st JDC. The warrants are as follows: FTA for possession of CDS II, resisting an officer, no drivers license, Domestic abuse battery, illegal possession of stolen things, possession with intent to distribute CDS I, possession with intent to distribute CDS II, Hit and Run, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, domestic abuse battery, simple criminal damage to property, aggravated flight from an officer, aggravated battery, aggravated assault all warrants where under warrant number 30555. Due to the nature of the warrants, Sergeant Tommy Ferrand along with K9 Diego performed a free air sweep of the vehicle. While doing so, K9 Diego alerted on the driver’s side door. Diego’s alert notified Sgt. Ferrand that a presence of narcotics was detected.
During the course of the investigation, deputies located a bag containing a green leafy vegetable substance (suspected marijuana) and a small bag containing several (25 – 30) milk white rocks (suspected crack cocaine) .
Pursuant to the roadside investigation, Gutter and his passenger Patrick Brumfield ( DOB 3/17/85) were arrested and charged with two counts of Possession of a CDS with in a 100 feet of a school (two counts one for suspected marijuana and the other for cocaine).
HAMMOND- Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that the Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the beating of a male subject which occurred on Tillman Drive in Hammond.
On June 1, 2010, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call for service regarding a disturbance where a weapon was involved. It was reported that a male subject was walking down Tillman Dr. when three black males approached him and held him at gun point. One of the males began to beat him with the weapon as he threatened to shoot him. The victim was able to capture the attention of a bystander and they immediately attempted to assist the victim. The b/m subject then pointed the gun at the bystander and threatened her life as well. At this point, the three male subjects fled the scene.
Deputies searched the area for the suspects to no avail. Deputy Mike Dean Jr. with his K9 companion Emir arrived and provided assistance. The duo located the suspect handgun and a pair of shoes in a wooded area near the crime scene.
Through an on-going investigation led by TPSO Detective Gary Baham, two of three suspects were located and arrested. On June1, 2010, Frank Hooks, 42 of Harton Rd. in Kentwood and Bobby Duplesis, 19 of Barrane St. Ponchatoula were arrested and charged with aggravated battery.
A third suspect identified as Larry Parker, 32 of Aleata Dr. in Hammond also faces charges of aggravated battery. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Worthless Checks Division Wanted Suspects
Amite, LA – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that Detective Vic Ferrara of the Worthless Checks Division is asking for your assistance in locating the following suspects:
1. Techiquisus Howard (b/f, DOB 8.7.70) of Krogen Kove Loop or Terral Dr. in Tickfaw. Howard is wanted for issuing a worthless check to a local business in our parish.
2. Lisa Davidson Guttierrez (w/f/, DOB 7.2.75) of 12130 HWY 1064 West in Tickfaw. Guttierrez is wanted on three counts of issuing worthless checks in our parish.

VELMA, Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following:
A disturbance leads to shooting. In the late evening hours of May 29, 2010, detectives responded to Bickham Chapel road and Watson Lane regarding a disturbance involving several subjects. It was reported that shots had been fired and assistance was needed.
When deputies and detectives arrived, no subjects were able to be found. During a patrol of the area, deputies still were unable to locate any suspects. A short time later, deputies were advised of a gunshot victim who arrived at Lallie Kemp Hospital. Detective Mike Moore responded to the hospital and met with the victim. At the time, the victim was reported to be in stable condition.
