HAMMOND – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following:
On November 13, 2013, the sheriff’s office received a call from a concerned citizen stating three subjects were at a burned down/abandoned residence located on Old Genessee Road removing property.
Upon deputies arrival, they observed three male subjects standing next to a large boat on the property. The subjects were immediately detained pending investigation. Deputies soon observed that this was a burglary in process and that the subjects placed several items from the boat inside of a trailer being pulled by their vehicle.
TPSO Burglary Unit responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Detectives made contact with one of the property owners and advised them of what had occurred. Once on scene, the property owner identified additional items in the trailer as those that were located in a large barn on the property.
Detectives placed James Milton, (DOB 10.3.77) of Hammond, Christopher Ratliff (DOB 12.25.81) of Ponchatoula, and Jared D. Ross (DOB 12.21.85) of Ponchatoula, in custody and charged them with two counts simple burglary, trespassing, possession of CDS II. Christopher Ratliff and Jarrod Ross were also booked with FTA traffic warrants.
PONCHATOULA – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of 21 year old Jon Moore of Robert, LA on his second DWI offense.
At approximately 1:00 AM this morning, Deputy Scott Hinson passed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the Bedico area on Hwy 22. The vehicle was traveling 70 mph in a 55mph speed zone. Deputy Hinson also observed the vehicle leave the roadway several times before he could initiate the traffic stop.
Upon coming in contact with the driver, now identified as Moore, it was apparent by the strong smell of alcohol on his breath that he may be impaired. After conducting a field sobriety test, Moore was taken into custody on his second DWI offence. Moroe was additionally charged with speeding over 20 mph and careless operation of a vehicle.
KENTWOOD – Tangipahoa Sheriff Daniel Edwards is asking for your assistance in gathering information regarding several burglaries that have occurred at hunting/fishing camps on Hwy 51 in the Kentwood – Tangipahoa areas. Over the past few weeks, forced entry has been made to several camps in that area and numerous items taken, including hunting guns, pellet and BB guns. Sheriff Edwards is asking the community to please call and report any suspicious or unfamiliar activity in the area.

KENTWOOD – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following:
On October 15, 2013, a Kentwood area man was traveling near HWY 10 between Wilmer and Arcola, LA when his vehicle was signaled to stop by an approaching vehicle. The approaching vehicle flashed its headlights to get the victim to stop. After stopping, the victim opened his door and was immediately met by an armed black male subject, who was later identified as Eric Oneal Selders (DOB 9.20.71) of Independence, LA. Selders produced a handgun and robbed the victim of approximately $80.00, leaving his wallet on the ground near his vehicle. Selders reentered the vehicle and left the scene.
Selders was arrested on 11/6/13 on unrelated charges. On 11/7/13 he was charged with 1 count of Armed Robbery, and 1 count of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
