INDEPENDENCE – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards is asking for your assistance in locating 16 year old runaway Kiana Robertson.
Robertson has a history of being a runaway. She was last seen on December 25, 2013. She is believed to be in the South Baton Rouge area.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Kiana Robertson is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 985.345.6150 attention Detective Suanne Guaraggi.
KENTWOOD – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of 25 year old Kentwood resident Robert Wright.
On January 6, 2014, it was reported that Wright allegedly took a vehicle without the permission of the owner. While deputies were canvasing the area looking for the suspect vehicle, it was reported that Wright arrived at a residence on Hwy 1055.
While enroute to the residence, deputies were additionally advised that Wright had several outstanding narcotics related warrants for his arrest. Deputies arrived at the stated residence and made contact with Wright. At this time, Wright became non-compliant and resistant with deputies. Within moments, Wright was detained and taken into custody.
Wright was charged with resisting arrest, unauthorized us of a movable and 4 outstanding narcotics warrants.
PONCHATOULA – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards is asking for your assistance in locating burglary suspect 27 year old Ervin Dudley Gordon III of Ponchatoula, LA.
Ervin Dudley Gordon III is being sought for a burglary that occurred on Christmas Day on Dunson Rd.
The TPSO Burglary Unit has received information that Gordon may be in possession of a firearm in which he is suspected in stealing from a relative.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Gordon is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800.554.5245.
AMITE – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards announces the following:
Patrick Collins, a Tangipahoa Parish Deputy assigned to the parish jail, was arrested this morning for 1ct malfeasance in office, 2cts introduction of contraband into a penal institution, and possession with intent to distribute schedule 1 narcotics. Command staff at the jail developed information over the past few days indicating Collins would be introducing the contraband into the facility on January 6, 2014. The information was confirmed when a search of Collins’ work space revealed 4 separate packages containing suspected tobacco and marijuana. In a subsequent interview with TPSO narcotics agents, Collins’ admitted to bringing in the contraband and selling it to inmates. Collins’ is currently being processed and will be housed in St. John Parish pending bond.
“There is a fine line between working in a jail and being in a jail when you are willing to engage in criminal activity with those who you are charged with the custody and control of. Let this serve as a warning to others, the Tangipahoa Sheriff’s office will aggressively investigate and prosecute any person who compromises the security of our facility, regardless of who they are” Sheriff Edwards.
TANGIPAHOA – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards is asking for your assistance in identifying the subject shown in this picture that was taken for a residential surveillance camera .
On December 28, 2013, deputies responded to 69124 South River Road in reference to an attempted burglary. The homeowner arrived home to find several pry marks on the entry door as if someone were trying to gain entry into the residence.
After surveying footage from an on premises surveillance camera, detectives located this photo. Anyone able to identify the subject in question is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800.554.5245.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of a Independence area woman after hitting her children’s father with her vehicle. 38 year old Shawanda Robertson of Independence, LA, has been booked with 1 count of Attempted Second Degree Homicide, 1 count of felony Hit and Run, and 1 count Failure to Appear.
Shortly after 7:44 a.m. this morning, the sheriff’s office was notified that a person was struck by a vehicle in the 58000 block of Old Hwy 51 just south of Amite. The witness identified the suspect as Shawanda Robertson and provided a vehicle description advising she fled south from the area. Upon arrival Dy. Ryan Schumacher located 38 year old Terrence Holden unconscious, in the ditch, suffering from severe injuries to his leg. Holden was subsequently transported to North Oaks Hospital by Acadian Ambulance where he was listed as in critical condition.
Detective Mike Moore, of the Criminal Investigations, responded and located the witness to this incident. While obtaining a statement from the witness, Dy. Schumacher was able to locate Robertson at her place of work in Ponchatoula. Robertson was taken into custody and transported to the Parish Jail in Amite. Robertson provided a statement to Detective Moore detailing the incident and was booked accordingly.
