HAMMOND- Tangipahoa Parish Daniel Edwards is asking for your assistance in locating the following suspects.

Sheree M. Glass – DOB 2.16.1980 of Ponchatoula, LA. Glass is wanted by the TPSO on 1 count of issuing a worthless check, 2 FTA’s on traffic charges, 1 count driving under a suspended license, 1 count of driving without a seatbelt and I count of child desertion.

Kendall Alexander – DOB 7.23.1973, with the last known address in Jackson, LA, is wanted for issuing a worthless check to a local business in our parish.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of the stated subjects is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800.554.5245.

For Immediate Release

HAMMOND – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that through an ongoing joint investigation between the Sheriff’s Office, the Hammond Police Department and the Louisiana State Police, 62 year old Hammond resident and business owner John W. Davis, was taken into custody and charged with numerous of negligence regarding mandated business operations, improper records keeping, and reporting.

On February 18, 2014, law enforcement for all three agencies executed two outstanding arrest warrants for Davis, the owner of Gold Buyer, LLC. As a result of the arrest, a compliance check was conducted on two of Davis’s retail store locations, one in Hammond and the other in Amite.

Subsequently, a result of the compliance audit of the Hammond location, the Hammond Police Department charged Davis with a total of 28 counts of charges related to the violation of mandated records management and reporting. There are specific law’s which mandate the reporting of daily entries regarding transactions of secondhand goods, secondhand goods and or objects purchased being reported to authorities for inspections related to the property, and the law also states that cash purchased for metals (such as copper) are prohibited. These purchases must be purchased in the form of a check and recorded accordingly.

As a result of conducting the compliance check of Davis’s Amite retail location, he was charged with 3 counts of negligent photographic and other records keeping expectations and on for an outstanding warrant dated October of 2013, on the charge of felony possession of stolen property and another warrant dated Feb. 13, 2014, for negligent records management and reporting.

That same evening, Davis was released from the parish prison on a $41,000 bond.

HAMMOND – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards is asking for your assistance in locating a missing Hammond resident, 31 year old Jonathon H. Gordon.

Gordon has been missing since January 9, 2014. Gordon’s vehicle was located in the Ponchatoula area, however Gordon was no where to found.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Gordon is asked to call the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985.902.2088 attention Detective Koven Banks.

For Immediate Release from Sheriff Daniel Edwards

Loranger – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that on February 14, 2014, the sheriff’s office received information of a suspicious person selling flowers at the intersection of Milkplant Road and Louisiana Highway 40.

The caller advised that the subject was a white male wearing a dark coat, holding a sign and flowers.

Detectives traveled to the area and made contact with the subject later identified as 32 year old Joshua Rugg Robinson of Bogalusa. The roadside investigation revealed that Robinson was wanted by the Louisiana State Police (Troop B) on fraud charges.

He was then transported to the parish jail where he was properly booked and charged.

KENTWOOD – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following:

Over the past several months Agents from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Office Narcotics, the Tri Parish Narcotics Task Force and the Louisiana State Police, have conducted Undercover Narcotics Operation in the confines of Kentwood, Louisiana. Agents were able to produce approximately 30 warrants for distribution of various types of narcotics, on 16 suspects.

As of February 20, 2014 and as a result of this operation the following subjects have been arrested:

Desmond Cryer b/m 07/24/1983 of 1610 Martin Luther King Drive Kentwood, Louisiana
5 counts Distribution Schedule II cocaine and Hydrocodne
1 count Distribution of Schedule I marijuana
Cryer is currently incarcerated in Avoyelles Parish awaiting transport to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail

Lindsey Newman w/f 11/17/1988 of 10553 Highway 38 Kentwood, Louisiana
1 count Distribution of Schedule II Oxycodone

Jacob Shelton w/m 10/06/1985 of 69496 M.L. Varnado Road Kentwood, Louisiana

This investigation is ongoing. Additional arrests are expected to be forthcoming.

On an unrelated matter Agents conducted an arrest on a Mariel Castillo h/m 02/24/1988 of 14446 Gilluso Road Hammond, Louisiana for I count of Distribution of Schedule I marijuana.

Narcotics Arrests

ROBERT – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of 3 local residents who may be connected to several business burglaries in the Robert area.

On February 20, 2014, Darryl James Perrin, 27 of Ponchatoula and Cecil John Norman, 42 of Ponchatoula, and Russell Dean Morse, 44 of Robert, were taken into custody on burglary and narcotics charges.

These subjects may be linked to 2 business burglaries that occurred in the Robert area. On February 19, 2014, the Ole Post Office Pizza Restaurant reports that their business was burglarized and has the suspects pictured on surveillance video. On February 20, 2014, the Kids Haven Child Care Center reported a similar burglary and reported that their safe had been removed from the building containing approximately $1,600.00 and banking information.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. yesterday, Kids Haven was contacted by their bank and advised that someone, later identified as Perrin, was attempting to cash a fraudulent check using their account. By 6:00 p.m. that same day, Perrin was in custody on 2 counts of burglary.

Norman and Morse, who were both accompanying Perrin at the time of his arrest, were in possession of illegal narcotics. Subsequently, Norman and Morse were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia and operation creation of a clandestine lab.

HAMMOND - Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of two Hammond men for an armed robbery that occurred in the parking lot of Jeff's Grocery on West Club Deluxe Rd.

At 1:30 a.m. 25 year old Dorin Sellers and 26 year old Kevin Mullens, both of Hammond, were taken into custody for robbing two subjects in the parking lot of Jeff's Grocery Store with a gun. Sellers was arrested on site, while Mullens fled the scene.

Mullens was later apprehended by TPSO K9 Recon after he crashed his vehicle on Old Baton Rouge Highway, and attempted to flee on foot.

Charges:
Mullens: Resisting an officer by force, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and principle to a felony.
Sellers: Armed robbery with a gun, resisting an officer by force, aggravated second degree robbery and a convicted felon in possession of a fire arm.

Kentwood – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards is asking for your assistance in identifying the three subjects displayed in these photos.

On February 9, 2014, these subjects are believed to have burglarized a camper parked at a residence on S. River Rd. in Kentwood, LA.

Anyone able to identify one or all of these subjects is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800.554.5245.

HAMMOND – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards is asking for your assistance in locating 44 year old Kenneth Earl Chaney.

Over the past several months Chaney has been writing worthless checks to many of our local businesses. Currently, Chaney is wanted on 12 counts of writing worthless checks from a closed account.

Chaney is believed to be staying in the Hammond or Baron Rouge area. Last known addresses are 12585 N. Harrels Ferry Rd. in Baton Rouge and/or on North Cherry St. in Hammond.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Kenneth Chaney is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800.554.5245.
