HAMMOND, LA – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of a New Orleans area resident traveling through Tangipahoa Parish with the intention of distributing of illegal narcotics.

Saturday, TPSO deputies arrested 51 year old Shannon Swan of Destrehan after a traffic stop on I-12 led to the discovery of illegal narcotics and $48,000 in cash currency.

While positioned west bound on Interstate 12, Lieutenant Fernand observed and initiated a traffic stop on Swan’s vehicle for erratic driving and almost causing a crash. While making contact with Swan deputies asked if she had any illegal weapons or substances in her vehicle. Although Swan replied that she did not, she declined consent for deputies to search her vehicle.
