Update to Ponchatoula High Bomb Threat
At this time, Ponchatoula High School is cleared and secure. For the past several hours, multiple law enforcement agencies have been on site at Ponchatoula High School investigating a bomb threat that was received by the Ponchatoula Police Department early this morning.
Approximately 40 law enforcement officers from the TPSO, LSP, HPD, PPD, Homeland Security, St. John Parish SO deputies with Bomb Detector Dogs, Wildlife and Fisheries, along with school staff have been inside of the school conducting thorough sweep of the building. As of now, the sweep has produced negative results.
Simultaneously, TPSO detectives have been investigating the call that came through the Ponchatoula PD at approximately 5:28 am this morning. At this time, it appears that the call was placed from the Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in Carrollton, Texas.
