TPSO Seeking Murder Suspect
HAMMOND, LA – (October 24, 2016) – The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Office (TPSO) is seeking suspect in murder case.
Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that approximately 8:44 yesterday morning, 911 received a call regarding residents on Artie Rd.in Hammond, LA hearing gunshots. The caller then stated that when they looked outside, they saw a body lying lifeless in their neighbor’s front yard.
When deputies arrived, they observed the body of 50 year old Linda Williams lying on the found in front of her residence. Witness statements reflect that right after hearing the gunshots, they observed the victim’s ex-husband, 53 year old Jerry Williams Jr. of Ponchatoula, leaving the victim’s residence in a red Mustang.
It is believed that the murder suspect approached the victim as she was attempting to leave her home that morning. The encounter resulted in the victim being shot one time in the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jerry Williams Jr. is wanted for Second Degree Murder. TPSO Detectives have since recovered the red Mustang that Williams was allegedly driving as he fled the scene. At this time, his current means of travel is unknown.
