HAMMOND, LA – February 1, 2017 – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports additional arrests made in the on-going investigation into illegal bond activity.
Four persons have been identified and linked to the illegal bond activity case being investigated by the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. 47 year old Shawanda Dove of Independence, 43 year old Bridget Harper of Hammond, 40 year old Ronald Berry of Hammond, and 34 year old Donald Bickham of Hammond, LA.
As a result of continued investigations, four people have been identified surrounding an illegal forged bail bond made on November 4th, 2016, where an inmate at the Tangipahoa Parish Jail identified as Ronald Berry was freed from the jail on a $280,000 property surety bond. The investigation revealed that Berry coordinated the illegal bond with several other persons either directly or indirectly.
Berry was being held on numerous narcotics related charges for possession and distribution. Berry’s girlfriend, Bridgette Harper and brother, Donald Bickham, coordinated payment to a female identified as Shawanda Cortez Dove, who through another party obtained forged bond paperwork resulting in Berry being released.
After reviewing evidence, detectives obtained arrest warrants for those involved in the criminal conspiracy on charges as follows: L.R.S.14:26-375 Conspiracy for the Illegal Consideration of Criminal Bail Bonds, L.R.S.14:26-72 Conspiracy to Commit Forgery, L.R.S.14:112 False Personation, and L.R.S14:132 Injuring Public Records.
At this time the Tangipahoa Parish Criminal Investigations Division has arrested 43 year old Bridgette Harper of Roseland, Louisiana and 47 year old Shawanda Dove of St. Helena Parish, Louisiana.
We are currently looking for the public’s assistance in locating 40 year old Ronald Berry of Hammond, Louisiana and his brother 34 year old Donald Bickham of Hammond, Louisiana.
