HAMMOND, LA – (March 2, 2017) – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following.
Felony - Unauthorized Entry of An Inhibited Swelling
Richardson Road, Amite, LA
March 1, 2017, approximately 9:30 p.m.
Suspect: Dequincy Jackson, 36 of New Orleans, LA.
Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office (TPSO) Deputies, Acadian Ambulance Services and Amite Fire responded to a residence on Richardson Rd. last night regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located 36 year old Dequincy Jackson of New Orleans with a gunshot wound to the upper thigh.
As a result of the investigation it was revealed that Jackson forced entry into the Richardson Rd. residence at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night. Once inside, Jackson came in contact with an unsuspecting 25-year old Roseland resident who was a guest in the home. The male subject immediately demanded Jackson leave the residence. Jackson refused at which time an altercation ensued between the two subjects resulting in Jackson being shot in the leg.
Jackson suffered non-life-threatening injuries, however remains in the hospital. Upon his release, Jackson faces criminal felony charges.
