HAMMOND, LA. – (April 21, 2017) – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards states that five are in custody and deputies confiscated drugs, stolen property and weapons — after patrol deputies follow up on a lead regarding a wanted suspect and a stolen vehicle.

Arrested on multiple charges were 24 year old James Roundtree of Hammond, LA., 24 year old Shawn Landry of Hammond, 23 year old Bailey Johnson of Tickfaw, 20 year old Randon Williams of Hammond, and 26 year old Garrett Reid of Hammond and all behind bars after an investigation began last night regarding a stolen vehicle.

Around 9:21 p.m. last night April 20th, deputies responded to the residence of James Roundtree on N. Baptist in search of a stolen vehicle. Upon arrival at the Baptist Rd. residence deputies made contact with 20 year old Randon Williams who subsequently fled on foot from deputies. Williams was quickly detained and taken into custody. As deputies continued their investigation they located multiple knives throughout the residence and in Randon William’s possession - along with suspected illegal narcotics.

TPSO Narcotics agents arrived on scene and conducted a voluntary search of the residence accompanied by Roundtree. While doing so, several occupants were located detained pending investigation - 26 year old Garrett Reid, 23 year old Bailey Johnson and 24 year old Shawn Landry.

As a result , agents discovered in pain view needles and syringes with suspected methamphetamine, a small rolled cigarette butt believed to be marijuana, numerous small clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine on the floor and a glass smoking pipe in the same area. Also located - a glass water smoking pipe, small plastic clear bags (which is consistent with street level narcotics sales), and 2 firearms in a small ceiling cubby hole located in the laundry area. stolen vehicle. Detectives also recovered the stolen vehicle.

Radon WILLIAMS was also found to have an active warrant through Hammond Police Department. LANDRY also held two arrest warrants through the 21st JDC.

"I couldn't be more proud of the hard work and dedication by members of my department," Edwards said.

Charges are as follows:

Roundtree was charged with the manufacturing CDS II (Meth), possession of CDS II, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Williams was charged with resisting an officer by flight and possession of CDS II.

Landry was charged with two counts possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of stolen property.

Johnson was charged with possession of CDS II and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reid was subsequently charged with possession of CDS II.
