The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office will be collecting supplies for first responders who are supporting affected areas after Hurricane Harvey. We are asking for your generosity in collecting new and unused items - water, latex gloves, wet wipes, toiletries, pain relievers, t- shirts, hand sanitizer, Band-Aids, batteries, flashlights, blankets, etc. Please, no food or perishable items.
Items can be delivered to the TPSO’s Amite Office located at 313 East Oak St. and the Hammond Sub-Station located at 15475 Club Deluxe Rd. - Tuesday – Friday from 8am – 4pm, until September 8, 2017.
Our hearts and prayers remain with the victims affected by this storm and a tremendous amount of love, respect, and prayers of protection go out to all rescue teams and first responders. “We know all too well the devastation.” says Edwards. “It was just a little over a year ago in 2016, that we experienced a similar pain after horrific flooding affected our community. At the end of the day, it was the love and support from those who transcended borders that carried us through.” said Edwards.
Hurricane Harvey came ashore late last Friday about 30 miles (48 kilometers) northeast of Corpus Christi, Texas, as a Category 4 hurricane. "With your help and generosity we will give back and support those who are giving their all to help others," concluded Edwards.
