ACE in the HOLE
KENTWOOD, LA – (October 18, 2017) – 5 arrested in Kentwood last week after being caught in the act!
On October 11, 2017, at approximately 1:00 a.m., deputies responded to a possible burglary in process at a residence on W. Hayes Rd in Kentwood. The caller stated he possibly had one suspect blocked in a shed behind the residence and observed a vehicle traveling up and down the road multiple times.
Lt. Matt Schliegelmeyer and Deputy Stephen Easley located the suspect vehicle matching the description described by the caller and subsequently detained three occupants. Meanwhile, Deputy Colby Varnado and Sgt. Mike Moore arrived at the residence where Sgt. Moore deployed one of TPSO’s newest team members – TPSO K9 ACE. Once on scene, deputies introduced their presence by giving loud verbal commands and announcing TPSO K9 ACE’s presence– two subjects exited the shed and surrendered without incident.
TPSO K9 ACE was then used to conducted a free air search around the suspect vehicle where he gave a positive alert at the driver’s side door. ACE’s alert indicated the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
A search of the vehicle discovered residue of Methamphetamine, pipes used to smoke CDS, and several other items of drug paraphernalia. Deputies also located a 9mm handgun that was reported stolen from Jackson County Mississippi and numerous pieces of jewelry.
A subsequent search of the building where the two suspects were hiding resulted in two additional firearms being located. One of these firearms being reported stolen from a separate burglary in Jackson County.
Numerous burglaries are expected to be solved as the result of these arrests. GREAT work, TPSO and welcome to the team ACE!!!!
The suspects in custody are as follows:
One 16-year-old juvenile.
Dale Jones (W/M, DOB:05/25/1970) - Charges simple burglary, vehicle burglary, possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and 3 counts of possession of a stolen firearm.
Charles Judge (W/M, DOB:08/11/1993) - Charges simple burglary, vehicle burglary, possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and 3 counts of possession of a stolen firearm.
Cheyenne Glass (W/F, DOB:10/20/1994) - Charges principle to simple burglary, principle to vehicle burglary, possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and 3 counts of possession of a stolen firearm.
Destiny Mclemoore (W/F, DOB:01/16/1999) – Charges principle to simple burglary, principle to vehicle burglary, possession of CDS II, possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and 3 counts of possession of a stolen firearm.
