Suds for DRUGS!

Did you know that Tide laundry detergent has become one of the most stolen items these days? Why? Because in some areas it’s become the new currency on the street, and some people are stealing bottles of liquid detergent or Tide PODS and then trading them for drugs; or maybe even suspected criminals can't escape the infamous “Tide Pod Challenge”. Nonetheless, we MUST reiterate a point made in countless news reports, biting down on a brightly colored laundry detergent packet and spitting out or ingesting its toxic contents is extremely dangerous. So please, don’t do it!

Meanwhile in HAMMOND, LA – (May 16, 2018) – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective’s are asking for your help in identifying the females in these photos. These three women are accused of stealing over $450.00 of Tide laundry products (Tide PODS) from the Dollar General Store located at the intersection of Old Baton Rouge Hwy and Pumpkin Center Rd. yesterday afternoon. And apparently this wasn’t their first stop. The trio is believed to have also hit a Dollar Store in Livingston Parish – stealing hundreds of dollars worth of Tide Pods.

The subjects are said to have fled the store in an older model brown SUV, possibly a Suburban. If you recognize any of these women, please contact Detective Earl McFarland at the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Retail Theft Task Force at (985) 902-2088, or Tangi Crime Stoppers at 1-800-554-5245.
