The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Agents seize a large amount of suspected Heroin following a traffic stop.

HAMMOND, LA - January 22, 2019 - On Wednesday January 9, 2019, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office was assisting the Louisiana State Police with a traffic crash on Louisiana Highway 1064 when they observed wanted suspect Anthony Ray Spurlock THOMPSON "AKA BOOCHIE" (D.O.B.08/10/1981) of E. Evans Road in Independence, LA traveling on the roadway. Lt. Tommy Ferrand conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, confirmed Thompson's identity, and placed the suspect in custody.

Subsequent to a roadside interview, THOMPSON gave detectives permission to search his vehicle. As TPSO Narcotics Agents began a search of the vehicle, they discovered a child's cup hidden in the dash under the steering wheel. As Agents opened the cup they were astonished to see approximately one ounce of suspected heroin packaged for distribution, several dose units of suspected MDMA "Ecstacy", and two prescription pills believed to be Oxycodone.

On January 10, 2019, THOMPSON was additionally charged with two counts 40:966A1 possession with the intent to distribute CDS I, 40:967C possession of CDS II, 40:1023 possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of failure to appear for court.
