Arrest


PONCHATOULA, LA - May 2, 2019 - Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following arrest.

Last night, TPSO deputies arrested 31 year-old Lucas Huntington of Ponchatoula, LA moments after committing a residential burglary on Sable Lane in Ponchatoula.

Around 9:00 p.m., Deputy Brittney Vaccaro arrived at the residence and observed a white male carrying two guitar amps in his hands fleeing from the back side of the residence. Upon seeing Deputy Vaccaro, the subject dropped the items and continued to flee on foot into a nearby wooded area.

With assistance from the Louisiana State Police and Springfield Police Department, a secure perimeter was established and assisting deputies began canvasing the surrounding area. While doing so, Sergeant Ethan Dunn located a white male matching the description of the suspect riding a bicycle eastbound on Hwy. 22, near the perimeter area. The male subject identified as the victim's neighbor,

31 year-old Lucas Huntington. Huntington was detained pending investigation.

Subsequently, Huntington was charged with burglary and resisting arrest by flight. Deputies also recovered six (6) guitars and (3) additional amps valued over $3,000 from the suspects residence, all of which belonged to the victim.
