Arrest

HAMMOND, LA - November 21, 2019 - Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the following arrest.

On November 18, 2019, The TPSO Financial and Cyber Crimes Unit arrested 26-year-old Tre'von Dixon of HAMMOND after a nearly 3- month investigation into a report of identity theft. The victim reported several unauthorized charges posted to her Region's bank account debit card made through Paypal amounting to nearly $1,000.00.

TPSO Detective Michael D'Amato was able to trace the IP address logs associated with the purchases to Dixon's residence in an apartment complex in Hammond.

It was learned Dixon was an employee at a local Big Box electronics store where the victim recently purchased a washing machine. It is believed this was the point of compromise for the victim's debit card information.

Dixon, along with his attorney, reported to the TPSO Hammond substation for questioning where Dixon confessed to his crimes. Dixon was booked for (1) count of Identity Theft.
