1 Year Anniversary of Double Homicide

HAMMOND, LA – December 23, 2019 - Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards shares that December 23, 2019, marks the one- year anniversary of the brutal shooting deaths of a mother and child.
In the early evening hours of December 23, 2018, 42-year-old Daytra Miller and her 13-year-old child Robert West Jr. were gunned down in their Labruzza Lane residence and shot to death.
Still one year after this brutal attack, no arrests have been made. In a plea for the public's help in January of 2019, Sheriff Edwards offered an additional 10,000 reward for someone to come forward with information surrounding the events that took place that evening increasing the reward to $12, 500.
To date, no one has come forward. “Somebody knows what happened to this family,” Edwards said. “And without your help, I don’t want to say it’ll never be solved, but it’s going to definitely be challenging.” In most homicide cases, authorities believe they know the killer’s identity but they need witness to cooperate.
Today, as we continue to pray for the victims and their families, pleaser remember that we still need your help. Anyone having information related to this case is asked to contact Crime Stoppers, 800.554.5245, or the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, Detective Dale Athmann, 985.634-9181.
