HAMMOND, LA - May 22, 2020 - Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the arrest of 29 year- old Jamaria Rashad Wilkinson of Hammond, LA.
Wilkinson was taken into custody yesterday around 1:00 p.m.,after detectives linked him to the discovery of an unresponsive male with a head injury found in the parking lot of the Tangi Village apartment complex off Rufus Bankston Road. Deputies received the call for service on May 20, 2020, around 9:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, deputies immediately located the male victim - who was subsequently transported to a local medical facility where he remains to be in critical condition. The preliminary investigation revealed that the male was the victim of a physical altercation.
At this time, Wilkinson is in custody on charges of second degree battery and theft.
