Narcotics Warrant and Arrest

October 26, 2020

HAMMOND, LA – Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports the seizure of nearly (12) pounds of high grade marijuana from a local Hammond residence.

An undercover investigation into illegal narcotics activity led TPSO narcotic agents to obtained and executed a search warrant at a residence on Lumino Lane in Hammond, LA. The search occurred on October 22, 2020, at the residence of 31-year-old Christopher Lamar Brown, a subject of the investigation.

While at the residence, agents located and observed Brown in his kitchen with a pair of scissors and a kitchen knife, standing over an open package of what appeared to be a large quantity of marijuana packaged in clear vacuum sealed plastic bags. Two of the clear baggies were already open. Consequently, Brown was taken into custody, however, claims he had no knowledge that the opened package he was standing over contained marijuana.

A subsequent search of Brown and his residence yielded a large sum of cash currency (located on Brown's person), a money counting machine, currency bands, and several empty packages similar to the packaging inside the open box. Additionally, agents located approximately (3) pounds of high grade marijuana packaged in plastic vacuum sealed packages inside of Brown’s vehicle.

The search ended with agents seizing nearly (12) pounds of high grade marijuana from Brown’s residence. Brown was charged with Possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS.
