Waterways Closure Reminder
HAMMOND, LA – The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reminds our residents that waterways south of LA 22 have been closed to recreational traffic.
The closure is a direct result of high water and a large amount of debris in local waterways post-Hurricane Ida.
The TPSO has been receiving numerous complaints regarding individuals violating the order. Under the terms of the order, effective September 6, 2021, waterways south of LA 22 are closed to all recreational traffic until further notice.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries will continue patrolling these areas and issuing fines to violators.
