Uniformed Patrol

The Uniformed Patrol Division of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is the backbone of our law enforcement efforts. Covering over 900 square miles divided into four districts, our deputies maintain constant vigilance to protect our community and minimize criminal activity. They respond to over 50,000 calls annually, ranging from traffic incidents and domestic disputes to major incidents like armed robberies and homicides. Deputies endure extensive training and education in drug detection, emergency response, crisis intervention and law enforcement techniques to ensure they have the knowledge to handle routine and unique situations. Our deputies play a crucial role in maintaining public safety on our roadways and in residential areas.

• K-9 Division: The first full-time K-9 division in Tangipahoa Parish, featuring nationally certified K-9 teams for suspect apprehension and narcotics detection.
• Traffic Division: The Traffic Division ensures road safety through traffic law enforcement, accident response, and escort services.
• School Resource Officers: School Resource Officers ensure school safety, build positive relationships with students, and prepares for security breaches and altercations.
• District Assignments: Divided into four districts to optimize response times and leadership efficiency.
• Leadership Structure: Led by Sheriff Gerald Sticker, overseeing rotations of lieutenants, sergeants, and Criminal Patrol Deputies 24/7.
