TPSO: Sobriety Checkpoint Planned

HAMMOND (March 4, 2026)- The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office will conduct a sobrietycheckpoint in Tangipahoa Parish sometime over the next several days as part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign.

This effort is coordinated and funded by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission in partnership with the National HighwayTraffic Safety Administration.

During the checkpoint, deputies will be looking for drivers who are possibly impaired while checking for other traffic safety issues. These checkpoints are designed to help raise awareness for these types of violations and make the highways of the parish safer for all motorists. Additional specifics about the checkpoint will not be released in advance.

Motorists are urged to drive carefully and to comply with all Louisiana traffic regulations.
