One Injured in Hammond Shooting

HAMMOND (March 9, 2026)- The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office(TPSO) is investigating a weekend shooting incident that left one man injured.

Around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, the TPSO received reports of multiple shots being fired in the area of East Gate Drive and Pleasant Ridge Road in Hammond. When deputies arrived, they located a car with bullet holes and a home in the 18000 block of East Gate with bullet holes. However, no victim was on scene at that time.

Within 10 minutes, a 24-year-old man arrived at an area hospital with gunshot wounds. He has since been discharged.

At this time, detectives believe the incident occurred during a party being heldat a short-term rental house. The motive remains unclear.
