((UPDATE)) Be On The Lookout: Missing Man from Hammond

((UPDATE 5/18/26))

This afternoon, TPSO deputies recovered the body of who is believed to be Dustin Sharp based on matching physical features, including tattoos.

A team of workers discovered the body along the Natalbany Creek north of Highway 22 in the Pumpkin Center area, about a mile from where Sharp's bike was found.

The Tangipahoa Parish Coroner's Office will be conducting an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

While that work is underway, detectives continue to encourage the public to share any information they may have regarding Dustin's whereabouts between his disappearance and today's discovery.

Be On The Lookout: Missing Man from Hammond

PUMPKIN CENTER (May 17, 2026)- The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance locating a man who could be in danger.

On Friday evening, May 15, relatives reported Dustin Sharp, 34 of Hammond, missing from Oscar Starkey Lane in the Pumpkin Center area. They say he disappeared into the woods on Monday, May 10, after learning upsetting news and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Loved ones are concerned he could be a danger to himself.

His bike has since been located near a pond in the area that he was known to frequent, but no other belongings have been found.

Dustin has blue eyes and dirty blonde hair with a beard and stands 5’6” tall, weighing 150 pounds.
