AMITE (September 18, 2026)- The second tractor that suspect Latino has been arrested for stealing has been recovered in Montgomery, Alabama, thanks to dedicated efforts by TPSO's investigative team.

((UPDATE)) Arrest Made in Stolen Tractor Investigation

AMITE (September 3, 2026)- Thanks to a tip from the public, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has made an arrest in connection with a tractor theft investigation from May.

Malachi Latino, 21 of Amite, has been booked on one count of Illegal Possession of Stolen Things ($5,000-$25,000) and Criminal Trespassing.

Back in May, the owner of property in the 21000 block of Austin Brumfield Road discovered his tractor and trail camera had been stolen. The tractor was a red model 3016 GD Mahindra with a front loader bucket and bushhog attachments.

Through the investigation, detectives were able to recover video from the property during the timeframe the tractor was believed to have been stolen which showed a man walking near the tractor. After sharing that video with the public, a tip came in helping to determine the suspect was Latino.

Once Latino was taken into custody, detectives were able to locate the tractor in Monticello, Mississippi. During this investigation, detectives were also able to confirm Latino as the suspect in an unrelated tractor theft investigation and booked him in that case as well.

TPSO Investigating Stolen Tractor

AMITE (July 2, 2026)- The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) needs your help locating a tractor stolen from the Amite area and identifying a person of interest in the case.

Back in May, the owner of property in the 21000 block of Austin Brumfield Road discovered his tractor and trail camera had been stolen. The tractor was a red, model 3016 GD Mahindra with a front loader bucket and bushhog attachments.

Through the investigation, detectives were able to recover video from the property during the timeframe the tractor was believed to have been stolen which shows an unidentified man walking near the tractor. The investigation has determined that while this individual is not known by name, he is known to frequent this area with several dogs who were also seen in the surveillance video.
