Student-Athlete Arrested in Battery Case

HAMMOND (July 2, 2026)- The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested a student-athlete following a battery incident involving a dating partner.
Kadan Lewis, 22, has been booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on one count each of 2nd Degree Battery, False Imprisonment and Simple Criminal Damage to Property.
On Tuesday,June 23, a woman contacted TPSO to report having been attacked by Lewis, a student-athleteat a local college, at his home on Bridget Road in the Hammond area. The victim had to seek medical attention for her injuries.
Following an investigation over the past week, a warrant was obtained for Lewis’ arrest this morning. He turned himself in voluntarily this afternoon.
