Officer Arrested for Protective Order Violation

HAMMOND (October 20, 2026)- A Hammond Police officer arrested last month in connection with two domestic violence incidents has been arrested for violating the protective order associated with the previous arrest.
Corey Bergeron, 28, was taken into custody this morning on one count of Violation of a Protective Order. He is in the process of being booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail at this hour.
Monday morning, October 19, the TPSO Victims Unit was made aware of evidence that Bergeron was violating the court order to stay away from the victim in the domestic violence incidents he was arrested for last month.
Following a thorough investigation into that evidence, a warrant was obtained for Bergeron’s arrest. Immediate efforts to locate him began and he was ultimately taken into custody within the past half-hour.
