The Mission

Since Covid-19, church ministry in the Tangipahoa Jail has not existed. Sheriff Gerald Sticker values the importance of having a relationship with God and church. Under his administration, he has brought back having church services in the jail to pour into the lives of the inmates.

"We may not be able to stop them from coming in, but we can surely encourage them and speak into their lives the little time we have them."

We believe in sharing hope, truth, and love. The purpose of church is to bring hope and encouragement to these inmates, to bring peace into their lives that they can carry out into the world. This is NOT a chance to condemn them and call them out for their failures. They have been told and treated like so most of their life and even in jail. Church is an opportunity to share Jesus with them, and the opportunity to speak truth to them in confidence but with love and grace. This ministry has been already fruitful, with inmates desiring to come hear the Word and be encouraged and prayed for. Testimonies have come forward already with them wanting to seek more of God and wanting to change their ways, because of the impact of church.

God is moving!

Get Involved

Church services are held the 2nd and 4th weekend of every month.

To apply to become a clergy, a background check is required. After passing the background check, Chaplain Pete will schedule a time with others to receive your clergy card.

At this time, the only opportunity to preach/minister to the inmates is by getting on the schedule. With a lot of people being interested in sharing the good news, and being we only have church on the 2nd and 4th Saturday, the opportunity to share is spaced out. We do our best to let every clergy come and share throughout the year.
