Schedule a Physical Inspection

In Louisiana, the Office of Motor Vehicles may require a Physical Inspection of a vehicle, which is used to verify the identity and vehicle identification number (VIN) of the vehicle.

Beginning June 2, 2025, the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office will offer this service for a fee of $40.00 per vehicle.

Payment must be made by money order only to: Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office

The requestor must provide the following before any inspection can be completed:
1. Valid government-issued photo ID or Driver's License
2. Vehicle title or registration
3. Vehicle must be present and accessible for inspection
4. Payment upon arrival
