Teen Arrested for Series of Crimes
HAMMOND (September 24, 2025)- The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested a Hammond teen for several gun-related crimes over the past three months.
Laterrious “Bezo” Braziel, 18, has been booked on one count each of Aggravated Assault by Drive-By, Armed Robbery, Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, Illegal Discharge of a Weapon and Aggravated Criminal Damage.
On July 20, TPSO received reports of shots fired in the area of Mashon Road in Independence. While no one was injured, a car and house was hit by the gunfire. During that investigation, on August 25, TPSO received a report about a gaming device being stolen at gunpoint at a home on Happywoods Road in Hammond. From there, detectives determined Braziel was the suspect in both cases. As detectives were actively attempting to locate Braziel, on September 17, TPSO received a report about a man being shot at while driving down Baker Lane in Hammond. He was not injured. Detectives quickly identified Braziel as the shooter and added another warrant for his arrest.
This morning, September 24, Braziel was taken into custody at a relative’s house without incident.
The TPSO wants to thank the community for its cooperation and support with this investigation.
