Aug 11, 2026

ROBERT (August 11, 2026)-The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for information in connection with a roadside accident that left a man seriously injured.

On the morning of July 17, the TPSO received a call from a driver who found a man stuck underneath a trailer on the shoulder of the westbound off-ramp of I-12 at the Robert exit. The man’s arm was trapped underneath one of the trailer’s tires while the pickup truck the trailer was attached to was still in park with the driver’s side door still open and no evidence of crash damage.

While the man, 45 years old from Mandeville, survived the incident, the damage to his arm is severe.

At this time, the investigation has determined the initial incident likely occurred several hours before the man’s discovery; however, detectives have been unable to confirm the information they currently have regarding the circumstances leading up to the victim being injured.

Deputies are actively working this investigation and are asking the public who may have been traveling in this area in the overnight hours of July 16 into July 17 to reach out with any information or dash camera video that may be helpful. The Criminal Investigations Division can be reached at 985-902-2088.
