Body Found in Canal

TICKFAW (April 29, 2026)- The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) is investigating the discovery of a body in a canal in the Tickfaw area.
Around 7 p.m. on Monday, April 27, two boys fishing in a canal at the intersection of Stafford Road and Pravata Lane reported seeing a body in the water. When deputies arrived, what appeared to be the decomposed remains of an adult male were retrieved from the waterway.
Following an autopsy Tuesday morning, the victim was identified as 38-year-old Brandon McKay of Tickfaw. Preliminary results do not indicate any signs of trauma. Toxicology testing is pending.
