Sheriff Sticker Issues First Agency Report; Initiates Independent Review of Financial Performance
AMITE (February 9, 2026)- Following the conclusion of his first full calendar year in office, Sheriff Gerald Sticker is presenting the people of Tangipahoa Parish with the inaugural agency report for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) under his leadership.
The 20-page informational packet provides residents with an overview of the agency’s activities, accomplishments, statistics and progress since the new administration began in July 2024. It touts encouraging downward trends in crime rates, detailed insight into his administration’s budget management, success stories from new internal initiatives and community programs as well as highlights of how each division has served the people of Tangipahoa in the past 18 months.
“I hope our community is as proud of all that we have achieved with them as I and the men and women of TPSO are,” said Sticker, “While we know we’ve done a lot, it’s hard not to see the positive evolution of this agency and our parish as a whole when put into a collective perspective like this.”
At the same time, the TPSO’s required annual audit has been submitted to the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office (LLA) and is now available for public review. In summary, the report outlines decreases in spending and debt, increases in revenue and assets, and a near elimination of a $2.5 million deficit inherited from the prior administration.
Despite a clean audit with no findings, Sheriff Sticker has requested additional feedback from the LLA regarding the agency’s financial performance and standards under his direction. That feedback will be the foundation for a panel of local business and financial leaders to review, as well, with the goal of gaining new recommendations for addressing existing and future funding challenges.
“This proactive step to engage respected experts on government and law enforcement spending and operations, as well as esteemed local citizens, falls right in line with my commitment to earn public trust with fairness, professionalism, transparency, and accountability.”
